Is there a medium size PU truck that gets approx. 20mpg hiway and can carry a small cab over camper shell?

I’m trying to determine if I can find/purchase a medium size PU truck that will allow me to put a small, cab over camper shell when I want to tool around the country a bit and then be removed so I can put on a lumber rack for some lite repair work I frequently do on rental and other properties.
I’d like to have a nice interior with AC, comfy bucket seats. I’m not really a speed or acceleration freak. Just good service and effecient performance. Anyone out there own or have any ideas of what kind of make/model of truck would fit these perameters?
Your answer could save me a lot of leg work. Thanx!

try a chevy s-10.
Look into a S-10 4×4 they have a little more horsepower than the two wheel models and a heavier suspension.
Toyota Tacoma gets 20 city and 26 hiway mpg.
The Nissan p-up was a real good truck for me, I had it 10 years and not once took it into the shop for anything. I think you are doing what I did and that nissan was the best thing for me until I got married….Now I got a Toyota full-size to haul around my kids stuff, friends and help my in-laws with moving….I miss being single !
You might try the Dodge Dakota. It’s a nice solid truck and available in 4×4 as well for off-road use with the camper. It gets 16 city and 20 highway.
